
Junior Rugby at Reading RFC
Reading Rugby Club has a thriving youth section for both boys and girls of all abilities, providing a fun, safe and progressive environment to learn and enjoy the game.
Our minis section is mixed and runs from Under 6 through to Under 11, focusing on enjoyment, basic skills and confidence. From Under 12 onwards, rugby develops into junior and colts rugby (Under 12 to Under 18), with boys’ teams at each age group and a growing girls’ section with dedicated teams.
Across all age groups, the emphasis is on development, teamwork and a lifelong enjoyment of rugby, whether players are new to the game or looking to progress.

Junior Rugby at Reading RFC is at the heart of our club, providing a welcoming and structured environment for young players of all abilities. From first introductions to the game through to competitive rugby, our focus is on developing skills, confidence, and a genuine enjoyment of the sport.
Our experienced coaches create sessions that are engaging, inclusive, and age-appropriate, helping players build strong fundamentals while encouraging teamwork, respect, and resilience. Whether your child is completely new to rugby or looking to develop their game further, there is a place for them within our junior section.
Training takes place weekly, with regular fixtures and festivals throughout the season, giving players the opportunity to apply what they learn in a supportive and positive setting. Above all, Junior Rugby at Reading RFC is about community, friendships, and a lifelong love of the game.

Girls’ Rugby
The Girls’ Section at Reading RFC is a vibrant and fast-growing part of the club, offering a welcoming and supportive environment for players of all abilities. Whether completely new to rugby or looking to develop existing skills, every player is encouraged to get involved and enjoy the game.
Coaching sessions focus on building confidence, core skills, and teamwork in a positive and inclusive setting. Players are supported to develop at their own pace while being part of a strong, encouraging group.
Regular fixtures and festivals provide opportunities to put training into practice, build match experience, and create lasting friendships. The Girls’ Section is built on energy, commitment, and a genuine love of rugby.

The Minis section at Reading Rugby Club is where young players begin their rugby journey in a fun, inclusive and supportive environment.
Open to boys and girls from Under 6 through to Under 11, sessions focus on enjoyment, basic skills and building confidence, with plenty of games and activity each week. Training typically takes place on Sunday mornings at the club, with festivals and fixtures introduced as players progress through the age groups.
Our aim is simple: to give every child a positive introduction to rugby, encourage teamwork and friendships, and help them develop a lifelong love of the game, whatever their ability or experience.
All sessions are run by dedicated, DBS-checked coaches and supported by a strong community of parents and volunteers.
