Reading RFC’s Men’s section is built around three senior teams and offers a place for players at different stages of the game, whether you want to compete, develop, return to rugby, or simply be part of a strong club environment. The Reading Kites are the women’s section of Reading RFC and the current Berkshire Women’s Team of the Year, recognised for both their performances and the strength of the squad.

Open to players of all backgrounds and experience levels, the Kites combine a competitive edge with a strong team culture. Whether you’re new to rugby or returning to the game, there is a place for you in a supportive and ambitious environment.

With plans to field two teams next season, this is an exciting time to get involved. The squad continues to grow in both numbers and quality while staying true to the inclusive, hard-working values that define the club.

Reading Rhinos is the veterans’ side of Reading RFC, bringing together former players and those returning to the game who still want to enjoy competitive, structured rugby in a more relaxed setting. Built on experience, camaraderie, and a shared love of the sport, the Rhinos offer the chance to get back on the field, stay connected to the game, and be part of a social and welcoming group. It is rugby played in the right spirit, with a strong emphasis on enjoyment, team connection, and continuing to be part of the club.

Reading RFC’s Walking Rugby offers a welcoming and inclusive way to stay involved in the game, whatever your age, experience, or level of fitness. Played at a slower pace with no contact, it focuses on enjoyment, movement, and teamwork, making it ideal for those returning to rugby, managing injury, or trying the sport for the first time. It is as much about the social side as it is the game itself, with a strong sense of community and connection at the heart of every session.

Berkshire Brigands is Reading RFC’s mixed ability team, providing an inclusive form of rugby where players of all abilities can take part in a structured, supportive, and genuinely competitive environment. The focus is on what each individual can do, creating a team where everyone contributes, develops, and is valued. Alongside opportunities for players who face barriers to the traditional game, the Brigands also welcomes those who want to take on an enabling role, supporting teammates and helping others enjoy and succeed in rugby.
